    Big question: how did they get the equipment and building materials up there before the helicopter pad was built?!
    Imagine how scary it would be during a winter storm. On the plus side, best place to be with a years supply if there's a zombie apocalypse.

    They climbed the thing in 1939. It doesn't say if they used the drills and chains that they took with them, but the guys that climbed it were superior mountain climbers, per the article. To get past an overhang, one guy went down on all fours, then another climbed on his shoulders, then the third guy climbed on top of the second guy and was able to reach the lip of the overhang and pivot himself to the top.
